ABOUT MAC POTTS
Mac Potts, a Vancouver-based professional pianist and vocalist, has always had an innate connection with music. From his early years in Kalama, he was drawn to musical toys and cassette tapes, immersing himself in melodies. Music became an integral part of his life, a constant companion that he couldn't remember living without. Even as a young child, Mac's passion for music was evident when he played "Mary Had a Little Lamb" on the piano, reaching for the keys with tiny hands while still in diapers.
Despite being blind from birth, Mac Potts hasn't allowed his disability to hinder his pursuit of a fulfilling life. In fact, his musical talents have opened doors to experiences that surpass those of many others. Since childhood, he has dedicated himself to perfecting his skills, emerging as a gifted pianist and vocalist. By the age of 11, Mac was already performing at festivals and events across the Pacific Northwest. His talents soon took him to renowned stages in Memphis, New Orleans, Cincinnati, Florida, and New York.
Mac Potts's musical repertoire spans a wide range of styles, with a particular inclination toward pop. While he received classical training during his formative years, he considers his roots to be deeply embedded in rock and roll, soul music, blues, and a touch of jazz. Rather than specializing in a single genre, Mac's exceptional talent lies in transforming the piano into an entire band, accentuated by his skillful use of his piano bench and feet as additional percussive elements. In addition to the piano, Mac also plays the saxophone, drums, and harmonica, while dabbling in guitar, ukulele, and bass.
Given the profound role that music plays in Mac Potts's life, it is unsurprising that it played a significant role in his personal life as well. It was through their shared love for music that Mac met his wife, forging a deep connection that blossomed through harmonies and melodies.
